The ark in a synagogue (also called the Torah ark or holy ark) is generally a receptacle, or ornamental closet, which contains each synagogue's Torah scrolls (Sifrei Torah (ספרי תורה) in Hebrew). This children's Aron Kodesh is perfect for the classroom. It fits up to 3 of our large classroom children's Torah scrolls, and of course our medium and small Torah's.
Outside dimensions: 25" X 18.5" X5.1".
Inside dimensions: 19.5" H x 15" W x 3.75" Deep.
Please note: This Aron Kodesh is crafted for us by a carpenter in New Jersey. We ship it to the customer fully assembled, which unfortunately increases it's price. The finishing is not at the fancy level of an Aron Kodesh you would see in a Synagogue - It is intended for a classroom. The sides are veneered. Every Aron Kodesh manufactured looks loks a bit different, due to the nature of the wood’s patterns of the veneer.
Please note: The buttons are screwed inside/out for shipping reasons – if they were on the outside there would be a strong pressure point there, and it would cause damaging during shipping. Please unscrew the buttons upon receipt, and screw them in their places correctly.
