Head of school attributes IDF experience to leadership skills, by Randall P Lieberman

Born and raised in Israel, Maya Scwartz served as an Israeli Defense Force army drill sergeant with a combat unit for two years. She attributes this formative experience as meaningfully shaping her leadership skills.
Scwartz now uses these skills at the Arthur I. Meyer Jewish Academy — a K-8 Jewish community day school in Palm Beach Gardens — where she was recently promoted from interim head of school to head of school.
"It is my greatest honor and privilege to continue the legacy of leadership that began more than 40 years ago at this school," said Scwartz. "I am proud to lead our active and vibrant Jewish community day school into the future.
