10th of Tevet Judaicrafts Items: Three tragic events are remembered and observed in this month! On the Eighth of Teves the Torah was translated for the first time in a foreign language making it accessible to all scoffers of the Torah. The King Talmi seated seventy-two elderly people in different rooms and entered to each of them individually ordering them to translate the Torah into the Roman language. Despite the fact that all men were in solitary confinement Hashem blessed them with a special spirit and they all translated the Torah exactly the same way. On the Ninth of Teves the great accomplished sage Ezra died. He had brought the exiled Jews from Babylon back to Israel and accomplished much in his life. On the Tenth of Teves the Romans surrounded Jerusalem and blocked all entrances. This was the start of the fall of Jerusalem and the ultimate destruction of the Temple.
